Suzanne McGuirk

Thanks so much to Suzanne for hosting the meeting! The house was wonderful; she really knows how to decorate!

No dues due today as Sandy is out sick. They will be due at the February meeting.

Library: A few new magazines but Karla not here.

Anita taking minutes as Chloe had another obligation.

Check your e-mail and accept the invitation to our Yahoo Group at yahoogroupes.com

You may find some other groups you may want to join.

Set up for the Creative Festival is 5:00PM on the 30th. You will need to enter the east side of the building where the ramp is. WE STILL NEED WORKERS especially Thursday and Friday. Contact Linda Benson if you can work at 303-477-1461

Leslie Molen will be judging the challenge.

Anita suggested that the numbers for the club challenge "Enchanted Garden" start with 100

so they can be differentiated from the "Mardi Gras" challenge. Last year there were ballots with only numbers and it was hard to tell which one were being voted on.

Will not go into detail of the shock n awe. I did take pictures and will show them at the next meeting.

The list of those that had shock n awe were:

Edie, Colleen, Rosanne, Janice ( She is getting married), Stephanie, Janet, Darline.

February 16th Meeting will be at Rosanne's with Darlene helping. More info to come.

Program is Folded Kimono. The kit fee is $?.00 (will let you know). We will also work on the Morning Glory Beading since we only got the stem done. So bring your beads (the club has some for you to buy for a $2 kit fee) (Happy Valentine's Day)

March 15th Meeting will be at Colleen's with Sandy helping Happy St. Patricks Day!

Program: Face Sculpting with Marion & Linda teaching. Marion will bring to February meeting/send/post a head pattern. There will be a full supply list later.

The rest of the year will be filled in as we work on it.

Desiree is a mohair bear artist and may be teaching a class later in the year. She will bring some samples of her work to the next meeting.

Marion talked to Leslie Molen and she is pretty busy the first half of the year so we probably wont get a class set up with her until September. The class fee at her studio is $105 for two days + kit fee of $37.00. We are thinking of doing the Gossips which is a paperclay mask she provides and then an overlay of fabric.

Sorry this is so short but I wanted to get this out as soon as possible in case of other info

or questions.

Wish more of you could have come to the meeting. You missed seeing a very beautiful house.

Librarian Report:

Renewed or will renew magazine subscriptions to Cloth Doll Costuming, Art Doll Quarterly, Soft Dolls

Business

Creative Festival was a success though we lost money on the Mardi Gras challenge.

Concern about low attendance today - 12, maybe we need to ask people why they didn't come and make sure it isn't because they dislike attending meetings in people's homes. Anita suggested a calling tree like the one in her quilt club.

Vote taken if we wanted to allow people to remain on the email list if they don't pay dues was "Yes". There are non-member and member fees for program classes during club meetings.

The library is too heavy!

As the March meeting is at Colleen's house, and she is one of the librarians, she would like to have all the books and magazines out and a vote taken on whether or not to keep the non-subject matter items such as those on quilting. Afterwards they would first be offered to members

for purchase with remainders donated to an organization such as the public library. After that the librarians will make a list of what is left and perhaps only bring the last 3 months of magazines to meetings.

The Creative Festival booth and doll challenge is a lot of work. Marion asked the Colorado Springs doll group if they would be interested in helping with no interest from them, they help with Pueblo's and that is about all they can handle. Marion would like to turn the challenge over

in the next year and may give workshops to volunteer commitee members. The experience will help her fix the workshop for publishing.

Vote for interest in Leslie Molen class was positive with 5 people interested. It is a 2 day class usually 9 - 4. We still need a chairperson.

Vote taken for having a booth at the National Quilt Festival (Mancuso) was "No". Not one member was interested but Marion will tell them we may be interested next year.

Marion is having classes at Above & Beyond - a sign up sheet went around.

Desiree's Bears

Desiree showed us her bears as we are considering having a class to make one. She uses only Mohair and draws the pattern on the Mohair for you, a pattern is not supplied with this class. Samples of the Mohair is usually provided with the sign-up that you may choose. Her "Pondarosa" bears have longer arms and legs for climbing those far

reaching limbs in the pines. Traditional bears are for beginners. There are "antique" bears. The bear comes with a picture card of antique child who is the Child Storyteller to tell the bears story. One of her bears has traveled with her and went to the Minnesota Mohair

Farm. Mohair is virtually indestructible unless you have moths. Bears are 18", have glass eyes, wool felt paw pads and center seams. The center seam alludes to the 1 out of every 8 Stife(sp?) bears that had acenter seam and are very valuable. There are "German Growlers" for the bears at an additional approx $4 ea. Rabbits are made from Alpaca and are 16". Mohair runs $75 to $250 a yard.

Desiree will put together a price point (kit price, no pattern, approx $50 - $60) and date. Her kits usually include: mohair, joints, eyes, wool felt, eye thread,

pearl cotton for nose and mouth. Students will need to bring fiberfill and thread (sewing machine). The class will total approx $110 - $120, is two Saturday's with one or two weeks in between for students to do homework construction. The second section/day concentrates on the head with tips for clothing, shoes. Desiree prefers the hardboard and lock nut joints - that is what is in

her bears. 6 - 8 people are wanted for the class, we may need two classes. It is preferred that only one bear pattern be used for everyone in the class.

Desiree also likes to get together about a month after the classes at a tea shoppe to meet the bears, hear their names and stories. Rosanne will take pictures and Marion will send out information.

For the Fiber Doll Conference Marion's husband helps out with the auction.

March program is faces!

Homework is to make a profile face/head and bring it to the meeting with

needles, thread and drawing materials.

Arley's classes at Creative Festival

Members liked and disliked the classes and Marion will supply the email address to both Arley and Kevin for members to supply their input. Comments were that the kit prices were overpriced and that the work was not displayed well and high that all might see his technique. Anita had a very nice sample from Arley's face class.

Marion and Roseanne took the PMC class which was oversold, too many people, not enough tools, tense.

We may opt to have a Panera's meeting with laptops to take advantage of their WiiFi or wireless internet connection. If we do we need to purchase $50 worth of food and beverage.

March Secretary will be Sandy - Go Sandy!

April Secretary will be Anita - Go Anita!

And "Thanks!" from Chloe

Anita and Bonnie will show samples for supplies next meeting or two for program at their place in May.

We had a drawing for extra magazines from Creative Festival and Anita's donation, thank you Anita.

Sandy is helping Colleen with Snack Fairy in March, Program: Faces!

Linda B. is helping Janet with Snack Fairy in April, Program: Janet's

Morning Glory

Program in May is Wrap Bowls

Shock and Awe

Sandy brought her new doll "Cindy the Crazy Party Girl" - she was awesome(!) with hair from the Family Dollar store.

Roseanne had a beautiful Mardi Gras shirt she embroidered.

Suzzanne had coasters her husband had done with the new embroidery machine, a "20's to the 60's" purse and child's quilt. (Such a hard worker!)

Suzanne can teach us printing on fabric - maybe June? Will work up supply list and kit fee or class fee for the purse.

Chloe had Sci-Fi/Fan convention information.

Chloe's House 1 - 4pm

Darline helped with snacks - Thanks!

Please note that it was determined that the supplies for the purse

project were at no charge to the group by Suzzanne and Chloe, but we

should check with Gage about the printer fabric she brought.

Attendance: (deleted for email to group)

Handouts: Agenda

Please see Agenda for discussion list and definitions.

Suzanne brought a beautiful bouquet of flowers from her garden and a lot

of sample materials, trims and panels for the purse making project.

Marion and others had items to sell "garage sale" fashion.

Library (club) was not available but Gage donated the book Art Dolls

that she acquired at the library (public) sale

Business

Above & Beyond was giving away free tickets to the Rusty Barn quilt

festival, may be for their return customers.

Discount tickets at JoAnns for the Rusty Barn quilt festival.

There is no July meeting as members are attending classes with the Rocky

Mountian Bead Society. Those classes do require pre-registration.

In August your class fees for the Bead Renaissance class with Christine

Shiveley in September during our regular meeting need to be submitted.

That is $10 per person and Marion gave out her cell phone number for

those wishing to meet for lunch during the Bead Renaissance.

It was decided that the August meeting will be at Rosanne's house and

computer tech training will be the program.

Desiree may be there to discuss Ebay knowledge, Marion gave a brief

discussion on getting pictures onto Craig's list. Marion will cover

printing to fabric using Word tables and resizing, Gage said she can

help. There is WiiFi at Rosanne's so bring your laptop. Suzanne will

help Rosanne with snacks.

Septembers meeting is at Marion's with the class and potluck.

Octobers meeting will be at Stephanies and the project is needle

felting. Linda B. will help her and Helen will help with snacks. Gage

will not be able to attend the October meeting as she is teaching a

shawl class.

November is at Linda B's and we will do the Quart Bag trading. Janet

will help with snacks.

December is at Gage's with pin dolls and potluck.

We will have 2 challenges!

First is our Art Nouveau doll for the Creative Festival.

Second is a doll from the Quart Bag trading at the November meeting and

it will be shown during the Feb meeting.

Stephanie and Gage will look into signing up with the group email.

Gage will check on the Boulder Handweaver's Guild class with Sharon

Costello on Vessels and Masks.

Dover Publications are the best books to work from concerning copyright

issues and freedoms. Gage may have an article on copyright she can send

or bring to the group.

We had a Dover book and CD to work with printing fabric - 120 Great

Fairy Paintings. There was a conflict between Chloe's desktop publishing

program Print Shop and the Dover program. We tried to put pictures from

the Dover work into Print Shop so we could print 2 pics/page but when we

printed the color changed from blue to red. The print was still usable

but not what we were hoping for. When test prints were made it was

determined that having the two programs open at the same time is what

was causing the color printing problem.

Marion has posted the registration for the Creative Festival on the

groups email page.

Gage has bags and bags of remnants that were given to her and has

generously donated them to the club for packaging and sale at the

Creative Festival. Gage will email us with a couple of dates for

volunteers to go over to her house and help her repack. She lives in the

78th and Kipling area.

Shock and Awe!

Anita had an elf doll and butterfly necklace that she was beading. She

let us know that The Quilt Studio in Longmont said they will be getting

in some Art Nouveau fabric.

Janet had a cloth bowl.

Suzzanne made a sweatshirt, purse and skirt for her granddaughter. Found

a dinosaur at a thrift shop and made "Wee Folk" fairy's to go with it,

Wee Folk are made from pipe cleaners.

Stephanie had sample skeins of her hand spun yarn, an Afghan farmers

hat, hanging dolls, Pabric printing fabric and weavings.

Gage had a picture printed on silk and embroidered.

Darline had a Bow-tuck(?) purse.

Rosanne had a cloth teapot and cup.

Chloe had a goth doll, cloth bowls, a purse panel made with a watercolor

painting set with Jacquards Permanent Dyeset Concentrate for Silk and

Wool Colors and gave a brief demo of making a credit card holder for the

purse lining.

There was a discussion about the dyeset, Chloe thought Meininger's Art

Supply was a good place to get it but Edie thought their prices were too

high and Marion suggested Dharma Trading.

Anita let us know that she and Bonnie were willing to take donations of

fabric and jeans to Kids Quilts and other quilting groups who make the

quilts and other projects for charitable purposes.

There was a raffle of 3 books and 3 bags of Super Fluff stuffing,

tickets were 25 cents each:

Rosanne won Doll Sculpting book

Chloe won Sculpting dolls in Super Sculpy

Suzzanne won Sculpting Little People

The stuffing was won by Helen, Bonnie, and Suzanne.

Suzzanne discussed the various ways to make the purse project and went

over her samples, passing around piecing, the printed fabric, crazy

quilt panels, piecing on muslin, trims such as lace and ric-rack,

picture tray, a size 2 skirt she found at the thrift shop. Suzzanne

recomends thrift store shopping for finds like her suede skirt.

Suzzanne had a lot of fabric, trims and even some charms for us to use

all free of charge.

Chloe had set up her sewing machines and embroidery threads. The use of

the printer ink was so negligible that there will not be a charge for it

either.

Gage supplied us with 3 different packages of printer fabric.

Marion set up lace painting.

To print on plain muslin use 2 pieces of freezer paper ironed on to the

muslin.

There was mention of a product that should be used on the muslin before

printing on it - Bubble Jet.

Print - remove the paper backing, apply Wonder Under now if you will

want it, then cut out the picture and begin piecing it into the purse

panel or use no sew applications with glue or basting spray to hold it

until you stitch the edges.

Message from Chloe:

Did I forget something or have it written down differently from the way

you remembered it? Write us! Let us know!

Colleen Bammann

Sandy Serhant

Suzzanne McGuirk

It was a cloudy and stormy day. Rosanne's dog, Buster, did his best to greet us at the door and show us to the living room.

The meeting begins......

Committee reports

Marion reported that we have $1948.90 in the Treasury.

If anyone has information that needs to be updated, contact Sandy Serhant.

Let Darline Smith know if you need patches made.

Colleen informed us that Karla, our co-librarian, has decided to drop out of DDA for the time being. She will definitely be missed!

Colleen asked for some discussion about not bringing all of the quilting books to each meeting. She explained that they are heavy and there has been minimal interest in the check-outs. There was a suggestion made to "raffle" them off at a later meeting.

Business

We were alerted to the Rocky Mountain Quilt Festival in Loveland Saturday and Sunday, August 23 and 24 in Loveland. To get information, go to the website http://www.roundbobbin.com/RMQS-index.html

A sad reminder that Kevin from the Creative Festival passed away.

Bead Renaissance will be at the Crown Plaza (formerly Holiday Inn) at I-70 and Chambers Rd, exit 283 on I-70, on September 11-14. Marion plans to go on Saturday with Christine Shively and said that if anyone wishes to join them for lunch, contact Marion and get her cell phone number in order to coordinate meeting times.

September 20, in lieu of the Sept. DDA meeting, Christine Shively will do a class at Marion's home. In the class, Christine will teach the Dress Rehearsal Birds and also a face painting demo (see DDA Yahoo Group for pictures). A couple of the Dress Rehearsal Birds were at the meeting for viewing. The club treasury will pay for some of the class. Darline collected $10 from members showing interest in participation. The class will be from 9a.m. to 5p.m. and everyone is asked to bring something for our potluck lunch. Be on the lookout for an email with Marion's address and a list of supplies for the class.

Gage is gathering information on workshops to be presented by Sharon Costello which will be hosted by the Handweaver's Guild of Boulder in April 2009 and she will be checking as to whether we might take advantage of her presence in Colorado for a possible DDA workshop.

Marion noted that the Creations in Fiber Doll Conference 2009 will be the weekend before Memorial Day. For information, check the website http://www.creationsinfiber.org/

Details on meeting places and snack fairies were cinched. Linda B. suggested that on the November meeting since the quart bag exchange will take a minimal amount of time, maybe videos on craft projects could be viewed. Gage said that she has a Sharon Costello tape and another on Turkish felt-making that she could bring to the meeting. Linda B. said that she has several Carol Duvall tapes that could be watched, as well.

Colleen asked that we do the program before Shock and Awe because she had to leave early because she is celebrating 28 years of being married.

Gage told us about a "book chain letter" and asked that if anyone was interested, to talk to her.

Suzzanne brought fabric scraps to share

Program

Marion started by drawing our attention to the handout attached to the agenda about Etsy stores, "How Selling Works" http://www.etsy.com/how_selling_works.php

Then she explained that "jpg" refers simply to a picture that is created by a digital camera. She held up the card that inserts into the camera and said that it is 1 gig which will hold up to 1300 images. Rosanne piggybacked by saying that her card will hold up to 200 images. Edie chimed in and showed us her snazzy Samsung camera phone which she got from Verizon.

Marion went on to explain that some cameras are powered by AAA batteries; hers has a rechargeable battery.

Megapixels refer to the quality of the image.

Of the many software programs, Marion uses Microsoft Office and then uses Printmaster for cropping. She went on to tell that there are 3 ways to transfer images from the camera to the software: (1)plug the card into the computer, (2)connect the camera to the computer with a cable, (3)use a "Dazzle" machine which connects to the computer.

Marion, then, attempted to show us how to use Microsoft Office and Printmaster but, Murphy's Law kicked in..............the computer slowed down to a halt, thus, ending her demonstration. Consequently, we moved on to Shock and Awe.

Shock and Awe

Sandy brought a gorgeous chair that she made from an on-line class at www.lisasheaven.com Marion informed us that there are 2 other sites with on-line classes, as well: Joggles and Dollstreet Dreamers.

Janice showed off a pair of socks that she knitted for her husband and then she passed around a mosaic with a Van Gogh influence.

Helen held up beautiful Alfonse Mucha posters that her daughter gifted her.

Stephanie passed around a fascinating enormous patchwork bag that she has constructed for a friend who needed a big bag to carry library books.

Suzzanne brought her finished crazy quilt purse and then showed us a doll made from, in her words, "terrible fabric". She explained that the American Sewing Guild distributed the "terrible fabric" and "Hattie, the hat maker" was born and won 2nd place. She also showed us her patchwork Christmas card holder.

Gage showcased 4 items. First, a blue wool purse made by using leftover scraps from a jacket that she wove and constructed. Second, a pillow doll with twig arms and legs which was inspired by something she had seen in one of the DDA library books. She explained that the hat was inspired by one of Marion's prior demos. Then, she passed around 2 needle felted wool dolls that made everyone giggle. "Mr. Nasty Neighbor" doll who personified just that, and then, lastly, a female doll who, Gage said, needed a story. Many suggestions came from the group---storyteller, fortune teller, gypsy. Gage quickly decided that this doll would be named "Natasha, the fortune teller".

Janet has certainly been busy! She brought 6 items. First, a pin that she crocheted from wire and beads. Then, she circulated 4 intoxicatingly beautiful bracelets/watchbands. After that, she passed around a beaded necklace that (I think) she said was bead netting. Then, she described to the group her (project in progress at the Arvada Center) of making miniature fairy gardens out of clay embellished with tiny plants that, most likely, will be on display at the student/faculty sale in December.

Finally, Rosanne shared details of her trip to the NIADA (National Institute of American Doll Artists) and ODACA (Original Doll Artist Council of America) conferences last month in Las Vegas. She passed around "a bushel and a peck" of literature for us to gush over (too numerous for me to record everything). The following are just a few.... www.reinamiabrill.com www.anniewahl.com www.shelleythornton.com www.olga-roehl.de

The meeting ran long, so Rosanne made some teeny, tiny polymer doll faces from a mold for all of us to take home and bake and use as we wish.

and that's all folks.........over and out. Linda B.

Librarian Report

We had our library this meeting, yeah! Thanks Colleen!

We need to talk about what we are going to do about books that have been out for around a year. Colleen will not be here in November. The library was taken care of by Rosanne.

Colleen was going to email Marion about getting Pixie Felt book for the library - Chloe thought we had voted on it once.

Business (Agenda points):

We need to have all the deposits for the Sharon Costello class by the Nov meeting. It is nonrefundable, aprox $45 per member. Sharon will be charging a minimum of $450. There were 4 members at the meeting who were interested.

November meeting is the quart bag exchange and your bag should be themed to one doll that will be made for the Feb meeting. We voted for Feb since Jan is the Art N. challenge doll.

Chloe believes Marion put up the link to a good history of Art N. and will email the link to the new members and group.

We are waiting to see if there is a replacement show by Rusty Barn in January.

Hobby Lobby had papers on sale 10/$1.00

Shock and Awe:

Sandy had a Fantasy Halloween Chair

Janet had Shively birds (the one with the felt hat was my fav)

Colleen had a Shively bird with great knees

Sandy had Creepy Creatures too

Stephanie's class on doll felting.

Stephanie gave each of us a wonderful color print-out instruction packet

- Thank You Stephanie!!

There was the story about how the UN was hired to go into cold areas to teach using felt instead of tossing it away.

There were books shown available through Susan's Fiber Shop on the web, if ordering get the translation. The first book was Filtiform(?is that right?), Sculpting Felting the second book and Pixie Felt was the third

book. Stephanie hasn't found a difference in felting needles.

Best needle prices:

Animals will love your felt dolls, especially cats - they love to disembowel them! Put felt dolls into a bath and they will fall apart. Plan the shape. Begin with two chenille stems in a stick figure pattern, the neck needs

3 or 4 twists. Stephanie didn't enjoy the results of plunging the felted figure into water and now dry felts.

Fleece sources: Youngsfield Recycled Yarns and Boulder Shuttles

Note that Sandy and Colleen carpooled and Sandy got a call that her new husband was involved in a motorcycle accident and so they needed to leave. We hope he's alright Sandy!

Roving is strips or ropes of wool, small bags of it are available at Hobby Lobby and JoAnns. Mix colors on a carder. Save chopsticks - roll the carded wool around end to begin form, use needle to punch together.

Wrap the chenille with the least expensive roving, avoid hitting the chenille wire with a needle.

Wool has scales, that is what makes it stick together when using the barbed needle. For the head make a ball and stick it into the hole/circle of your stick

figures head then mummy wrap it with roving.

Stephanie reminds us to fill out the felt doll muscles and that her blue pregnant pirate sold immediately.

Wrap another layer of desired color (flesh/peach) over form, crisscrossing around the chest builds up the shoulders. Wrap around chopsticks to begin features: buttocks, belly, etc... Finish skin with needle.

Stephanie offered to provide extra classes, not on Wed or Sun, and Sandy, Colleen, Rosanne, Rossi, Linda B., Janet and Trisha were interested.

Quote: "Funny thing about these is that they always turn out to be other people than you think." Stephanie

Novembers meeting at Linda B's will also have video of Sharon Costello and Gage will discuss/show Turkish Felting

Decembers meeting at Gage's is a potluck and we are doing a pin doll/ornament gift exchange.

January at Helen's and Chloe will help with snacks.

Message from Chloe:

Did I forget something or have it written down differently from the way you remembered it? Write us! Let us know!

Librarian Report

Rosanne had the library today.

Business (Agenda points):

Quart bag doll due in Feb.

Discussed sensitive information in history of group mail.

Chloe needs to resend use instructions of mailing to the group to the group.

Darline is working on Trisha's patch.

Sew Expo - Marion talked to us about the history of the group selling at the Creative Festival for 5 or 6 years so the new owners, Rusty Barn are going to allow sales in the booths they are giving the group in Feb.

Thanks Marion!

Sharon Costello Class - Marion counted 9 no's (largely due to weed day hours), cost would depend upon number of members interested. Since the Handweavers are bringing her in Gage thought there wouldn't be any accommodation costs and was willing to house, drive and dine her if

necessary. Thanks Gage, that is very generous of you! Marion said the club would cover meals (and that is only right don't you think?) Sharon's fee is basically 6 hours for $450 and we have three options:

1) the 2 day class on the 7th and 8th

2) one day either Tue or Wed making just a head

3) two nights, 6:30 to 9:30 making just the head

Evenings were the more likely choice and vote was postponed until those attending could watch the video(s).

Gage said we had a couple of meeting/class options in the Arvada Library for $25/half day or $50/full day, two nights would be $50.

It was also suggested to check with Above & Beyond that they might allow the class without charge.

Creations in Fiber Doll Conference has a new web site an Marion has listed it in the Agenda. This is $190 for three days of classes, banquet meals and evening classes. Rooms are extra but most likely very reasonable around $45/night. Rooms would be in the same hotel as the

conference.

Marion put pictures of Janet's birds on the group site.

Schedule:

Dec 9th Linda and Janet's "Aces Show" at the Arvada Center.

Sandy also has a book.

Jul 18th at Coleen's with Suzzanne's help for snacks. (Coleen wasn't present, we volunteered her.)

Programming:

Stephanie and Gage will do a summer program of felting when Gage can know her schedule. Save your bags that avacado's come in and Suzanne still has some wire mesh.

Sandy reminded us that we were once going to make a road trip to Nederland to Beyond Beadery.

Think of a program that you want or would be willing to do for the club?

Donna brought a box from her friend Mary, please take what you want.

Thortonfest has both a fall and winter show.

Anita & Bonnie will not be doing the Intercession Church craft fair

after all, Anita has to work.

Chloe brought a bag of stuffing from her neighbor.

Shock and Awe

Anita went to Nancy Zeaman's seminar (Sewing with Nancy) and had felted purses made on a felting machine at Above & Beyond who is the best selling Babyloc dealer and they do great things with sales and gave away a sewing machine and flat screen tv. Marion said Patrick is sweet. Anita also had a sweatshirt.

Gage had her Old Guy felt doll, Boulder Recycle sweater turned into a bag with the transfer print we did some time ago. She also had the felt dolls Serena with a tea bag in a pocket, Natasha fortune teller with crystal ball and dice and one work in progress with red hair. Gage had

gone to an antique sale and found a mirror with a great design, Victorian mesh purse, bobbins, thimble and thread case and a type of "dial a needle."

Suzzanne had a Shively bird "Let the Bells Keep Ringing" with great knees too! She had terrific bags with lights that were made with a free Halloween pattern from JoAnns, and she made a cornucopia from card stock printed with music.

Linda and Janet Greenwood had flyers for a pottery show they are doing Dec 9th "Aces Show" and Linda had her very creative "Shoefly Pie" of a cut pie with little shoes with wings coming out of it.

Desiree' brought her "Watermelon Rabbit" that is jointed, has glass eyes, detachable collar and is made from Mohair like her bears. Desiree' makes bears and gives classes on bears. She hasn't been around as she broke her hip and lost her summer! We're glad to have you back Desiree'!

She also had a great pin she'd purchased and Marion recognized it as a Patti Culea free pattern.

Helen had a Shively bird (just beautiful) and a work in progress Santa.

Gage said she would like a shoe class from Helen!

We almost couldn't get the Santa and Rabbit away from Anita and Gage, Rosanne had books and patterns.

Stephanie had "I Could Do That With My Left Hand" tribe felt doll.

Chloe had her book exchange, magazine raffle, ptarmigan, Shively process Cuthulu and kittens.

Sandy had a Shively bird with spats that was catching a bug - good job Sandy! And a book of Wild Women Book of Pins.

At some point Marion glommed on to a book and much laughter was had.

Next we did the quart bag exchange and Trisha apologized in advance to whoever got her bag to much laughter.

Comments heard were:

This is interesting!

This is wonderful!

Look at this - this is beautiful!

This is gorgeous!

Can I ask who did this bag and what this is? (It turned out to be a brush.)

Chloe had to leave at 3pm today and so didn't watch the videos or record a vote on the Sharon Costello class.
