2011 Rocky Mountain Sew Expo
Our stalwart members braved a blizzard and more than a foot of snow and ice to man our booth at the Rocky Mountain Sew Expo February 2-4 at the Denver Merchandise Mart. Thanks to all of you who came by to say hello and to vote for your choice in our Favorite Artist Challenge.
Very special thanks to Leslie Molen for judging our competition again this year. Your time, commitment and guidance is so very much appreciated.
If you are not familiar with Leslie's work, your are missing something amazing! You can visit her site at www.rootie.com.

2011 Charity Dolls
Our members once again came through with 36 dolls to donate to the Samaritan House in Denver. Here are some of them.

Pictures from the 2011 NIADA Conference:
Several of our members were able to attend this wonderful conference and meet doll artists from around the world. There were classes, demonstrations and much, much more! We had a marvelous time.
Annie Wahl's Handful of Witch class was just one of the terrific opportunities members had to meet and learn from NIADA artists. Here Gisela, Marion and Rosanne show off their darling creations.
Time Traveler's Tales
Pictures from our 2011 Doll challenge, Time Traveler's Tales, are available in our Image Gallery.

Denver Doll Artisans had a booth again this year at the Rocky Mountain Sew Expo February 3-5 at the Denver Merchandise Mart. We talked to many people about doll making and about DDA. Marion taught some wonderful classes, including a popular basic doll making class. But the highlight of every Sew Expo is our very popular Doll Challenge.
This year’s theme is Time Traveler’s Tales. Artists were challenged to create, not only a doll, but also a tale about traveling through time. The results were spectacular!
Charity Dolls

Pat is shown with some of the Charity Dolls during one of our "nearly" monthly playdates
The Charity Doll project that began in 2009 continued in 2010. This year we donated over 100 dolls and stuffed toys to the Samaritan House and the Berthoud Living Center. Nearly all of the items were lovingly handmade by members of Denver Doll Artisans. Many of the dolls were made during a playdate – a get-together just for working on projects.
